CYPRUS - TWO MILLION EUROS FOR SUBSIDISED STAYCATIONS IN AUTUMN

Call on residents of Cyprus to continue their holidays and in the autumn addresses the Ministry of Tourism. With the aim of stimulating domestic tourism during the autumn months, an exceptional holiday grant plan (Extraordinary Plan to Strengthen Domestic Tourism) was decided to be open to all, regardless of economic incomes. The minimum stay must be two nights, while the state will subsidise 25% of the cost of accommodation, including child charges, staying in the same room as their parents. The cost of the project amounts to €2m. and is estimated to cover approximately 60 mm. Reservations. As Deputy Tourism Minister Savvas Perdios told "F", about a hundred hotels have joined the programme, expressing his satisfaction. That's why breakfast reservations are only subsidised, he pointed out.

As he noted, the main purpose of the Plan is to strengthen all local businesses, considering that the Plan will also contribute to maintaining employment.

As regards the practical details of the Plan, this will last from 1 September to 30 November 2020. This includes Tourist Accommodations (Hotels, Organized Apartments, Tourist Villages, Agrotourism Accommodations), which offer for the month of September the maximum price of 80 euros with breakfast for a double room per night, for the month of October the maximum price of 70 euros with breakfast for a double room per night and for the month of November the maximum price of 60 euros with breakfast for a double room per night.

In addition, the Plan provides for 25% of the cost of accommodation to be covered by the State Department, including charges for children, who will be staying in the same room as their parents. The minimum stay for use of the above prices has been set at two nights.
