DUST PERSISTS, POSSIBLE SHOWERS TODAY, TEMPERATURES REMAIN HIGHER

 in-cyprus 25 October 2020 - by Constantinos Tsintas

A thin layer of harmful dust persists in the atmosphere, causing discomfort and problems for those with respiratory issues or other chronic illnesses.  The dust is likely to persist until Tuesday.

Particular care is needed, as dust will not clear at least until later in the day, when isolated showers are expected in some areas.

A warm air current is still affecting the area, keeping temperatures much higher than the seasonal average.

Overcast skies and dust will dominate the day, with showers creeping in at intervals.

Winds will be mainly light northeasterly to southeasterly, gradually turning moderate force three to four and in the afternoon, northwesterly of the same force, over slight seas.

Temperatures will rise to 33 degrees Celsius inland, 30 over northern coastal regions, 32 in the rest of the coastal areas and 25 on the mountains.

Clear skies this evening with high cloud, light northeasterly winds force three and calm to slight seas.

It will turn increasingly overcast starting tomorrow and over the next two days.

Temperatures will drop slightly on Wednesday, but remaining much higher than the seasonal average.
