Filenews 31 October 2020 - by Dora Christodoulou

A battle with the flames has been going on for two hours with the flying and ground fire machines trying to bring under control a fire that broke out for unknown reasons in an area between the communities of Tala, Koili, Kisonerga and the dam of Mavrokolympos.

The fire that is burning trees, crops, dry grasses and wild vegetation, has spread to a large extent and the dense smokes are felt up to the city of Paphos, due to the winds blowing,

The two Kamov 32 fire helicopters and ground divisions of the Fire Department, the Department of Forests and Thira are operating at the site, while the Civil Defence is on standby since the fire is within walking distance of residential areas, as well as the camp of Kisonerga.
