CYPRUS POLICE UPGRADING TECHNOLOGICAL EQUIPMENT IN CONTROL CENTRES

The Cyprus Police continues to upgrade its technological equipment in order to further upgrade its services, improve its efficiency and strengthen its operational capacity.

The Department of Technological Development of the Police Headquarters is in the process of upgrading all Control Centers in all provinces, which will respond to the new technological data, with the main focus on the interconnection of all police systems into a single platform.

The technological equipment has been installed so far in the provinces of Limassol, Paphos and Famagusta and includes, inter alia, the interconnection of the following systems:

  •  Thermal security cameras for surveillance of sensitive points
  • Automatic 'ANPR' Plate Recognition System from which data is obtained from fixed points
  • European Emergency Number System '112' or '199' as well as
  • "E-call" system where in the event of an accident the "112" is automatically updated.

Similar platforms are expected to be installed in the Message Control Centres (KEM) of nicosia, Larnaca and Morfos provinces.
