IN THE EVENT OF CORONAVIRUS SYMPTOMS, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR BY PHONE

Filenews 23 October 2020 - by Marilena Panagi

Adults and children, who show symptoms that refer to a coronavirus, must stay away from the dispensaries of personal doctors and children.

The instructions of the Ministry of Health and doctors to the citizens are clear. Citizens, when they experience symptoms(fever, cough, runny nose, agaesthesia, immunity, etc.), communicate by phone with their personal doctor or pediatrician and receive instructions over the phone.

On the other hand, personal doctors and paediatricians must respond to the calls of their beneficiaries and provide all necessary support to patients in need of assistance.

"The risk is enormous when people with symptoms visit our dispensaries," stressed General Health System personal physician Joseph Kasios, saying characteristically that "when a patient with symptoms enters the clinic and has no flu but coronavirus, but it will take a few days to diagnose, then there is a risk that he will transmit the virus to the doctor and the doctor. , who can see another 300 patients until the diagnosis is made, it is possible, to transmit the coronavirus in turn to the rest and at the same time, at least 300 people will be considered close contacts and so on. There is also a risk that this patient will transmit the virus to other patients who are waiting to see their doctor."

Citizens, explained the head of the office of the Minister of Health Anastasia Anthousis, "must avoid visits, both to the dispensaries of their personal doctors and to the public health clinics that operate in all the Provinces.''. In addition, "and because reports have arrived at the Ministry of Health about doctors who do not respond when their patients contact them, we should also call on personal doctors and pediatricians to cooperate and respond to the calls of their beneficiaries".

Citizens when they show symptoms must contact their personal doctor by phone.  The doctor will give instructions and monitor his patient.

If, on the basis of the existing guidelines, there is a clear indication of coronavirus or if the doctor considers that there are reasons to refer to a coronavirus, then the doctor through the existing platform makes his registration and the patient is referred to the public health clinics to undergo a crown test.

If the result is positive, then the procedure applicable to all cases is followed.

If the symptoms are mild, the patient remains in strict isolation at home and is in contact with his doctor. If symptoms intensify and he needs hospitalization, call 1420. If the result is negative, the personal doctor undertakes further care of the patient.

Citizens in cases where they cannot contact their doctor may make a complaint to the OSU. If their symptoms are very pronounced, they can be directed to 1420.
