SAMPLING UNDERWAY OF CLOSE CONTACTS OF SLAUGHTERHOUSE CASES

Sampling of close contact cases of the CYPRA Slaughterhouse in which an influx of cases was detected.

The Ministry of Health announces that individuals, who are considered close contacts of cases from the CYPRA Slaughterhouse in Nicosia Province, where there has been an influx of cases since 1 November 2020, should be confined to their home and not come into contact with other people both outside and inside the house.

Those who have not taken a coronavirus test are also urged to contact line 1412 from Monday, November 9, 2020 until Wednesday, November 11, 2020, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. or send their details (name, contact number and contact name) by email to contacttracing@moh.gov.cy, informing them that they are close case contacts of the Slaughterhouse, in order to arrange an appointment for sampling.

What is classed as a close contact?

A person living with a confirmed case.

Person who has had direct physical contact with a confirmed case (e.g. handshake, hug, kiss).

Person who had unguarded contact with infectious secretions of the confirmed respiratory case.

A person who had face-to-face contact with a confirmed case less than 2 metres away and with a duration of more than 15 minutes.

Person found indoors (e.g. classroom, office, cinema, hospital waiting area, etc.) with a confirmed case for over 15 minutes and at a distance of less than 2 meters.

People who have developed symptoms should contact their Personal Physician directly for medical evaluation or line 1420, indicating that it is close case contact.
