CORONAVIRUS - ADVICE FOR CYPRIOTS TRAVELLING FROM GREECE

Cypriots in Greece who wish to return will have to fill out their flight pass details and those in lockdown impacted areas may have to travel to other airports, the health ministry said on Monday.

The ministry said that as some airports in Greece may be shuttered, travellers are advised to seek flights at other Greek airports.

On Monday it was announced that Greece will impose a two-week lockdown in regions of Thessaloniki and Serres in the north.

The latest measures include the suspension of flights to and from Thessaloniki over the two-week period, which will come into effect on Tuesday along with the expansion of a night-time curfew on movement and the closure of restaurants and bars in the most populous areas of the country for one month.

The Cyprus foreign ministry said those who had planned/wished to return to Cyprus will be able to move internally to other airports within the country, including Eleftherios Venizelos airport in Athens, to depart from there to Cyprus.

The ministry advised those who may seek repatriation to contact the airlines or other relevant departments to remain up to date with any possible changes.

Those seeking flights to Cyprus must enter their details on www.cyprusflightpass.gov.cy.
