AL JAZEERA - NEW REVELATIONS ABOUT PASSPORTS [video]

 Filenews 12 October 2020

The Al Jazeera agency is again targeting the Cypriot investment programme with a new publication involving Cypriot high-ranking officials.

Specifically, the agency involves the Speaker of the House Dimitris Syllouris and the MP of ACPL Christakis Giovanis, as one of the greatest developers. The publication is part of a series of articles by the agency on the way investors were naturalized in Cyprus with a suspicious past.

In today's report, Al Jazeera quoted a Chinese businessman who was allegedly convicted of money laundering in China. According to the report, the Chinese businessman's representative, named Billy, repeatedly informed that the Chinese businessman had been convicted, which would prevent him from obtaining a passport. However, according to Al Jazeera, he was told that he should speak with the Speaker of the House, and sentencing would not be an issue as long as there was enough money.

The publication presents meetings that the so-called Billy had in the presence of the Speaker of the House Dimitris Syllouris and had gained his support. In fact, the report claims that journalists under cover were told that the more money there was to invest, the easier the passport would be given.

The text also refers to the reactions of both the Speaker of the House and Christakis Giovanis and to the complaints made later in MOKAS as the movements of the journalists gave them suspicion.

It is recalled that before the publication of the report by Al Jazeera, the Speaker of the House Dimitris Syllouris gave a press conference on this and said that at his urging he made a complaint the ACPL MP Christakis Giovanis. Mr. Syllouris also noted that Al Jazeera's attitude and the fact that while he knows that a complaint was made at first in the case of the alleged investor demonstrates the suspicious role played by the station and that he has another objective and in no way does investigative journalism.

Also the Giovani group in their own announcement said that it is an attempt to trap and staged propaganda the action of Al Jazeera in relation to the revelations in relation to the Cyprus Investment Programme. They also stress that "It is surprising whether the same hostile practices are being followed for other countries".
