Aegean and Olympic Air flights are cancelled and modified for Thursday 15 and Friday 16 October 2020 due to the participation of air traffic controllers in the 24-hour general strike of ADEDY.
A written statement from the company states that "due to the participation of air traffic controllers in the 24-hour general strike, announced by ADEDY, on Thursday 15 October from 08:00 to Friday 16 October 2020 at 08:00 local time, AEGEAN and Olympic Air are forced to cancel all flights on their network on Thursday 15 October, with the exception of flights A3 929 (Tel Aviv-Athens) and A3 931 (Cairo – Athens) , which will take place normally'.
It is added that "on Friday 16 October 2020, all AEGEAN and Olympic Air flights to and from all Greek airports are cancelled until 08:00 local time and 15 flights change their departure time. More specifically, on Friday 16 October 2020, the departure time is amended to 5 strands of international flights and 10 legs of domestic flights'.
Detailed on Thursday 15 October "all Aegean and Olympic Air flights to and from all Greek airports are cancelled, with the exception of flights A3 929 (Tel Aviv – Athens) and A3 931 (Cairo – Athens) which will take place normally. On Friday 16 October only Aegean flights from Tel Aviv and Cairo to Athens are cancelled."
It is also noted that on Friday 16 October 2020 AEGEAN and Olympic Air flights to and from all Greek airports are cancelled only until 08:00 local time.
According to the airline's announcement, the flight to Larnaca, which will take place on Friday 16 October at 05.45 in the morning, will finally take place at 07.35.
It is also stated that 'AEGEAN and Olympic Air will make every effort to promote the passengers of those cancelled flights on their network flights in the coming days'.
