The Cypriot authorities moved quickly after receiving a request from the Lebanese authorities at noon today to locate 43-year-old Russian businessman Igor Grechuskin, who is alleged to be the owner who was carrying the shipment with the ammonia nitrate that on Tuesday afternoon caused the deadly explosion in Beirut.
According to what police spokesman Christos Andreou told philianews, following the request made today by the Lebanese authorities, Asnotia located the 43-year-old in Limassol. The businessman was already asked to provide information about the murder charge.
As Mr Andreou said, correspondence will be forwarded directly to the Lebanese authorities.
