Greek fighters make their presence felt in Cyprus from today and for a few days. Fighters of the Hellenic Air Force fly in the sky of Paphos, as part of transnational exercises and use the air base "Andreas Papandreou" for this purpose.
The Greek F-16s arrived in Paphos accompanied by a C-130 transport of the Hellenic Air Force and after making a reconnaissance flight over the airport area, landed on it and from tomorrow are expected to begin their flight program.
The presence of the Greek wings over Paphos, follows the corresponding presence of the French and Israeli war machine last week in Cyprus, with "springboard" also the Air Base in Paphos. Two Rafale fighter jets, a French Air Force transport aircraft and four Israeli Air Force helicopters were in Paphos from 9 to 12 this month and participated in exercises in cooperation with the National Guard.
French warships, which have since resumed, were patrolling the eastern Mediterranean, while also providing support to French ships operating in the wider region, while Israeli air force helicopters from the neighbouring country participated in exercises in various parts of the island. These exercises are considered preparatory for the major exercise to be held jointly by Israel and Cyprus in September.
