Four new positive people in the SARS-CoV-2 virus were identified today from a total of 3,281 laboratory diagnoses.
In detail, virus-positive individuals emerged as follows:
- Of 2,260 samples taken as part of a passenger and repatriated check, 3 cases were identified.
- Of 69 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 1 case was identified.
In particular, they emerged as follows:
- 3 x flights:
- The two people arrived from Romania on 21/8. They are Romanians, permanent residents of Cyprus (couple). They don't have any symptoms.
- The 3rd person is a Greek soldier who came from Athens on 21/8. He has no symptoms.
1 x Microbiological Laboratories of General Hospitals: This is a person who showed symptoms on 22/8. Has a recent travel history in Albania
In addition, the following laboratory diagnoses were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- From samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases, 55 laboratory diagnoses were completed,
- From samples taken as part of the random random check of 10,000 people, 78 laboratory tests were carried out,
- From samples taken through a private initiative, 78 diagnostic tests were completed,
- From the migrant structure control programme, we had a result for 232 samples,
- From samples taken as part of the programme of referrals from Personal Physicians and special team control through the Public Health Clinics, 334 laboratory tests were completed, and
- Of the student control program, 175 laboratory diagnoses were performed.
Based on the data so far, the total number of positive cases is 1,421.
In addition, a COVID-19 patient was discharged from Famagusta General Hospital and treated in a ward. In the Intensive Care Unit of the Nicosia General Hospital, a patient is hospitalized.
