The police are calling on citizens to take anti-theft prevention measures in the wake of car theft in Limassol. The Police stresses that it is a criminal offence to keep each owner's car unsafe, noting that the Police will prosecute.
According to the police, there have been incidents in which car owners have left their vehicle's engine running in order to operate the air conditioner and not to heat the dog they had in the car, resulting in it being stolen.
In other cases owners leave the key in the car's ignition in order to go down to the shop or leave their vehicle unlocked.
