Sacramento Railyards Project
Sacramento is redeveloping the historic rail yards into a transit-oriented mixed-use district with residential, office space, retail, restaurants, a bicycle network, a new light rail station, a soccer stadium and the revitalization of the riverfront.
The railyards are historically significant, serving in the 1860s as the western terminus of the First Transcontinental Railroad.
According to Wikipedia, the 244-acre site when completed in the late 2020s is expected to include 12,000 housing units, 2,900,000 square feet of office uses, 1,900,000 square feet of retail, hotel, and other commercial uses, 41 acres of parks and open space, a 25,000-seat Major League Soccer stadium for Sacramento Republic FC, a 1.3 million square foot, 17.8 acre Kaiser Permanente flagship medical center campus, and create 19,000 permanent jobs.
As part of the Society of Environmental Journalists conference, we were given a tour of the railyards and given a glimpse into its industrial history and revitalized future.

Cenk Hoca Kimdir?
Üslubu ve kendine has konuşma tarzı ile fitness dünyasında çok sevilen bir kıbrıslı sporcudur. Kıbrıs'tan çok fazla sporcu çıkıyor. Cenk Hoca'da onlar arasında en iyilerinden birisi. Bu kadar sevilmesinin en büyük etkenlerinden biri ise bildiklerini takipçileri ile paylaşması. Bir çok sporcu personal trainerlik adı altında yaparken Cenk Hoca bildiği herşeyi ücretsiz olarak youtube kanalında anlatıyor ve bizlerle paylaşıyor. Ayrıca kendine has konuşma tarzı ile videolarını izlerken hiç sıkılmıyorsunuz.
Aynı zamanda Cenk Hoca'nın videolarından biri Kim Milyoner Olmak İster adlı yarışmada konu olmuştur. "Sesini duyduğunuz kişi nerelidir?" adında bir soruydu ve gerçekten takipçileri olarak göğsümüz kabardı. Seslendirmede Mr. Olympia ile ilgili konuşuyordu yanlış hatırlamıyorsam. En iyi arkadaşlarından biri olarak Meter Mevsimler gösterilebilir. Birlikte çok sayıda videoları var ve çoğu antrenmanını onunla birlikte yapıyor. Ancak son zamanlarda araları limoni sanırsam.

The Sherlock Holmes of Partington
Simon Archard isn’t Sherlock Holmes. But if there were no Holmes, I doubt there would have been an Archard.
The latter is also an eccentric Victorian-era sleuth, and such a cold fish that he makes Holmes look like an emotional basket case. Archard plies his trade in an out-of-print comic book called Ruse, ably assisted by “beautiful but deadly Emma Bishop.” The relationship between Simon and Emma is more Steed and Peel than Holmes and Watson. Perhaps her first name is no accident. As the top of the comic proclaims, “He’s the World’s Greatest Detective. She’s even better.”
I recently picked up all four issues of The Victorian Guide to Murder in a thrift shop and was enchanted by this story of a master detective and the plot against him by a master villain.
The storyline of The Victorian Guide to Murder was exciting and puzzling, the dialogue by Mark Waid quite witty, and the illustrations first-class. I’d like to read more.
Ruse was originally published between 2001 and 2004 by CrossGen. Marvel Comics revived the title in 2010 with The Victorian Guide to Murder miniseries, which is available as a paperback or e-book if you aren’t lucky enough to stumble on it in a thrift shop.
One mind-bender: The setting is a city called Partington, a leftover from the original series set on another planet. But this is definitely Victorian England, for the great lady herself makes a late appearance in an unexpected role.
Vintage Find - Cottage Print
My newest vintage find- a little framed cottage print (top). These little prints can be hard to find, but are worth the wait!
So far my collection consists of two, but I am working on it! For now they both look lovely together in the book nook.
I am usually drawn to English countryside looking prints, but this one was too pretty to pass up. To me it looks very 1940's, but there isn't any identifying marks.

One of the reasons I am drawn to house pictures is home has always been a special place for me and my family. We have been blessed to have a safe place to be ourselves, discuss ideas and debate the latest crazy scheme. Home for us has always stood for Family.
