Be Sure to Stretch Before Working Out

ByLinda Kinyo

If you are the type of person who does physical activities on a regular basis, you know and understand the importance of properly stretching out. Whether you play playing sports, going for a jog, or taking karate lessons, if you don't warm up and stretch out your muscles, you face a strain, pull, or worse. When you do take the time to stretch out your muscles, your body will feel more flexible, muscle control will improve, and the range of motion will be wider.

At times, some of us stretch without even realizing we are doing so. Like when we yawn, sometimes we lift our arms, stretch our neck, or arch our backs. We also stretch instinctively after a nap or first thing after waking up in the morning. Another example is after sitting in an awkward position or being in a confined space for a given amount of time.

For professional athletes, they focus highly on taking good care of their bodies, and stretching is a basic tenet of their daily routines. Without spending ample time stretching, athletes know that they are more prone to injury. Injured athletes can have big impacts on team play, and can damper their careers if playing a solo sport.

Before stretching, it is important to warm up the muscles you intend on focusing on. If stretching the entire body from neck, to shoulders, to arms, to hips, to legs, it is a good idea to do a light jog, jumping jacks, or jump rope for 5 to 10 minutes. Remember not to push yourself during the warm up phase, wait until after fully stretching, because your muscles are much less contracted and loose at this stage.

There is a right way and a wrong way to stretch out your muscles, if done incorrectly you can do damage to muscles, nerve groups, or even bones and joints. There is often more than one way to stretch a particular muscle and gain multiple benefits, but if damage occurs connecting tendons, muscle fibers, and ligaments can inflame and leave you in quite a bit of pain.

The best advice for novice athletes seeking how to properly stretch out is to visit YouTube and look for videos from yoga and martial arts instructors, professional trainers, or known athletes doing stretching exercises. If you happen to know someone who works out or exercises a lot, you may want to ask for their advice.

The Best Workout Can Be at Home

ByJoshua J Kozak

Research has shown that a large number of people end up quitting their exercise regimens when they join gyms. The motivation needed to keep going often reduces and in the end most people tend to give up. On the other hand, those who actually work at exercising in their homes, tend to do a much better job of the whole thing simply because they can do it in the convenience of their homes. Here are a few other reasons why exercising at home has several benefits.

One of the main advantages is that you will be able to save money when your exercise at home. This can be motivation enough. In the long run, a gym membership will cost you much more than home gym equipment ever will. Once you make the investment, it is over, whereas with a gym it is a monthly payment that recurs.

Being able to exercise at home means you can save on time as well. This is especially if your gym is a little out of the way. You can also have a flexible schedule to fit in your exercising. There may be a few days when you will want to do it in the mornings and on some other days you may want to work on it at night. With a home gym, it is always available to you at any point in the day.

You can have your own training videos on display at your home gym and not be stuck with just the one guy that centers often provide you. This means that you have a level of comfort established as well. You do not have to be worried about being pushed harder, though it may be needed at some times.

The largest benefit of having an exercise regimen to work on at home is the level of privacy it gives you. You do not have to feel embarrassed if you do something wrong or are unable to keep up with the pace of the. You do not have to feel embarrassed if you do something wrong or are unable to keep up with the pace of the exercise. You can build on it as and when you can. Hygiene is another matter that you do not have to think much about, because you know how things work in your own homes.

With exercising at home, you can always have your family members provide you with the motivation that you may need. This often works much better.

Madonna - Girl Gone Wild

Şarkı Sözleri

It's so hypnotic

The way he pulls on me

It's like the force of gravity

Right up under my feet

It's so erotic

This feeling can't be beat

It's coursing through my whole body

Feel the heat

I got that burnin' hot desi-i-i-re

And no one can put out my fi-i-i-re

It's coming right down through the wi-i-i-re

Here it comes

When I hear them 808 drums

It's got me singing

Hey, ey, ey, ey

Like a girl gone wild

A good girl gone wild

I'm like, hey, ey, ey, ey

Like a girl gone wild

A good girl gone wild

Girls they just wanna have some fun

Get fired up like smokin' gun

On the floor til the daylight comes

Girls they just wanna have some fun

A girl gone wild

A good girl gone wild

I'm like a girl gone wild

A good girl gone wild

The room is spinning

It must be the tanqueray

I'm about to go astray

My inhibition's gone away

I feel like sinning

You got me in the zone

DJ play my favorite song

Turn me on

I got that burnin' hot desi-i-i-re

And no one can put out my fi-i-i-re

It's coming right down through the wi-i-i-re

Here it comes

I know, I know, I know

I shouldn't act this way

I know, I know, I know

Good girls don't misbehave

Misbehave

But i'm a bad girl, anyway

Forgive me

Tennis Elbow Exercises: Yes, They're Vital - But What If They Don't Help?

There are several key exercises for Tennis Elbow treatment.

And the easy part is finding out which ones to do - The hard part is knowing when to do them.

If you do them at the right time they should help your recovery...

BUT, the problem is if you do them at the wrong time or in the wrong way they can just as easily:

1. Aggravate and worsen your injury,
2. Cause you even more pain, and...
3. Set you back weeks in your recovery!

To make matters worse, there's a lot of faulty exercise advice out there based on misconceptions about the healing process.

For example, what are some of the things you hear from well-meaning Physical Therapists, Personal Trainers and internet personalities offering exercise instructions for Tennis Elbow "Tendonitis?"...

Inflammation - Get that inflammation down first!

Many will tell you that you need to get the inflammation down first before exercising - But that's a big myth...

It's a major misconception, at best, because inflammation is actually part of your healing process...

(I call this myth the InflammaSCAM - because it's SO pervasive.)

The danger is, if you DO succeed in stopping all your inflammation - Then you've stopped your healing process.

Rest It First - For Several Weeks

Many "authorities" will also advise you to rest - for quite a long time before attempting any exercises.

I know this goes against the common wisdom again, but rest by itself is often overrated. It can be totally useless, because it doesn't necessarily help the healing process.

I can guarantee you, based on my experience treating so many of them, that countless Tennis Elbow sufferers before you have been shocked to discover the pain often returns with a vengeance...

After weeks or even months of rest, the pain comes right back, once they pick up their racquet, return to their work - or try to do those rehab exercises.

Just Do It! - No pain, no gain!

Nevertheless, some authorities will tell you to "Just do it! Start doing those exercises now - What are you waiting for?"

Some seem to think exercise is all you need to strengthen your way to recovery.

And that may sometimes work, but unfortunately, a lot of people hurt themselves following that advice.

It often takes more than just exercise (or rest followed by exercise) to recover from tendon problems like Tennis Elbow.

The big problem here is that none of these recommendations take into consideration how the healing process works with tendons in real life!

Here's something almost no one understands - And you'll be light years ahead of the crowd once you get this:

Tendons Heal Slowly - (If You're Lucky)

Think of how your skin heals from a cut or a scrape - You're pretty much certain to see the steady progress healing over several days or weeks, aren't you?

Not so with tendons!

When it comes to tendon injuries, the healing process is really slow - And that's if you're lucky!...

If you're not lucky it can simply stall on you, which is why resting is often completely useless.

The healing of the tendons involved in Tennis Elbow is notorious for grinding to a halt - If it even gets started in the first place.

And it can remain incomplete not just for a few weeks, but often months or even years. This is the real challenge!

And the key thing with exercise is that it's most beneficial when it's done during the middle-to-latter stages of healing and repair...

Of course, that means there has to BE some healing and repair of the tendon first, before exercises will help make it stronger.

Your muscles heal much faster than your tendons, and although those exercises may be just right for your muscles your tendons may not have healed at all, so they can't handle the stress.

If Healing Stalls

What if your tendon healing has stalled?

Well, don't expect exercise to help - It might if you're lucky, but chances are it won't magically get healing started again.

And neither will resting, hoping and waiting.

Okay, so what's the alternative? Is there anything that does help those Tennis Elbow tendons heal?

Absolutely! In my opinion the best treatment to help the healing process - has to include hand's-on direct manipulation of the tendons.

If the healing process in your tendon has stalled, you want to stimulate it "mechanically" to help keep it going.

I don't believe there's a better way than treating the tendon by hand with the right therapy - not massage really, I'm talking about something a lot more focused.

Yes, if you see a professional for this kind of treatment the cost can be rather high...

The good news, though, is you can learn how to do it yourself.

A few minutes a day with the right muscle and tendon therapy techniques can accomplish what months of resting, hoping and waiting fail to do - Keep the healing process going.

When the healing and repair process is going strong THEN exercise will help strengthen the muscle and the tendon - and not just aggravate your Tennis Elbow!

Walk or Run? Which Is Better? - Help Me Lose Weight Quickly

The debate continues. Should you walk or run? Which will burn more calories? What helps my cardiovascular base better? All these questions, so many opinions. To fully answer these questions, one must be able to discern and pick apart the arguments piece by piece, and then have a better cumulative answer. There is no easy way of answering this mind you. This will hopefully provide you a better idea about what is best for you right now, and what may be better for you in the long run.

The first piece of the puzzle I will be dissecting is how your body actually burns calories. Burning calories, or simply put: your metabolism, when you break it all down is the process by which your body changes what you consume into energy. This part is easy. You eat and drink, then your body naturally changes these into the usable energy your body needs. So during this biochemical process, calories are combined with oxygen to release this usable energy your body needs. Now it's pretty easy to understand that you burn calories or use up this energy while you exercise or perform physical activities. Your body has many natural always occurring processes that include breathing, blood circulation, hormone level regulation, and finally cell repair.

Now that you understand how calories are burned, we can go into more detail on the topic at hand. Walk or Run? Which is better? Most everyone can agree that running will undoubtedly burn much more calories than regular walking. But is this always true? Now we can't compare walking and running when it comes with high-level athletes or sedative couch potatoes. I'll be using the regular guy scenario. A typical jog (slow run) is what people generally run at. The speeds are on average anywhere from 5.5mph to 6.5mph. This speed of running will burn calories, but often times, it is not a sufficient amount of calories when you compare it to a faster walk. The average walking speed (at the mall) is around 3mph to 3.5 mph. This is far too slow for any actual cardiovascular strain on your body. What I'm getting at is this: if you are at a slower run (or jog) you may not burn as many calories as a faster walk.Let me explain a bit further.

Your body is a lot like a machine. It was designed to perform multiple different tasks. When the human body needs to move, it is designed to walk. When the human body needs to move faster, it is designed to run. That is why if you get on a treadmill and slowly increase the speed, you will begin to naturally jog after a certain speed. You don't do it because you can't walk at that speed. You do it because your body naturally is built to perform this task more efficiently while jogging, not walking. That's really neat, but what all does this have to do with calories, walking and running? Simple addition, that's what.

Recall back when I said that your body naturally burns calories during breathing and blood circulation. Circulating oxygen is an important part of your body's natural resting metabolism, and with burning calories while exercising. Take this fact and put it inside your pocket for now. Having your body performing an unnatural or irregular act will cause stress on your natural system. Take the walking fast and add this in. Starting to catch on? If you are walking fast (and when I said fast I am referring to speeds of 4.2-5.0), or otherwise known as power walking, you are putting your body is an unnatural state when you do not begin to jog. This causes your circulatory system to go into overdrive, so to speak. This is the biggest argument walk-advocates have over run-advocates.

By adding these elements together, you can presumably burn more calories walking fast (4.2mph

Being Smart About Exercise

ByBethany J Trezvant

When it comes down to it, exercise is not just about losing weight, it is also about keeping yourself healthy. One of the biggest misconceptions out there when it comes to Exercise is that you only need to do it when you are looking towards weight loss. The thing is, having a regular routine in place doesn't just help you with your weight, but it also keeps your body healthy as well. The more that you exercise on a regular basis, the more oxygen that is in your blood, and the better that your food digests. These are all things that your body needs, which is why exercise is the key to a healthy life.

While there are some people out there who are able to run or bike each and everyday, there is a good chance that you are not one of those people. While you would love to get a routine in place where you take an hour everyday to exercise your body the fact is that, well, that's not exactly realistic for everyone out there. After a long day of work you probably just want to crawl into bed, which is fine as long as you make sure that you get some type of exercise at least four times during the week. It doesn't have to be running, it can be walking, swimming, basketball, baseball, whatever.

The thing that a lot of people do recognize when it comes to exercise is that it helps you out tremendously with your mind. The more exercise, the better your body feels, which allows your mind to focus on more important things. If you are looking for the best way to get your brain awake in the morning, try 20 minute on the treadmill. It gets the blood flowing, and thus you end up feeling more awake.

As you grow older, you will notice that your metabolism isn't what it used to be. You know how you used to be able to eat 10 tacos before you went to bed and not gain any weight? Those days are over. With that in mind, having an exercising routine is not so much about losing weight, but instead about keeping you at where you are now. If you are going to eat bad a couple of days of week, simply taking the time to do some exercising will help you stay at your ideal weight. It's something that you can't afford to keep putting off.
