Cyprus Mail 9 November 2020 - by Nick Theodoulou
Hellenic Bank announced that key services will be changing from Monday, stating that customers will have to use ATMs for cash withdrawals for amounts less than €500.
Cash deposits for amounts less €500 will also have to be done via ATMs. Customers will also have to use the ATMs to receive statements and account balances, while cheques can also be deposited via the ATM.
A Hellenic Bank official told the Cyprus Mail that the change in policy is linked to the high number of coronavirus cases. As such, she said, the bank is trying to limit the number of people inside.
The change is temporary, but due to the uncertainty there is no timeframe for when it will return to normal operations, she said.
Staff will also be available to provide help to any customers who require assistance in using the ATMs, the official said.
