Through 4,033 laboratory diagnoses, 174 new cases of coronavirus were detected, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.
In detail, today's cases emerged as follows:
- Of 635 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases, 75 cases were identified.
- Of 1,679 samples taken through a private initiative, 75 cases were detected.
- Of 238 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 5 cases were identified.
- Of 1,042 samples taken as part of a passenger and repatriated check, 9 cases were identified.
- Of 280 samples taken as part of the referral programme by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics, 8 cases were identified.'
- Of 64 samples taken as part of the control programme for pupils, teachers and school staff, 2 cases were identified.
In addition, 95 samples were carried out as part of a sample check carried out by the COP on Associations participating in its competitions, without the detection of a case.
Therefore, and on the basis of the data so far, the total number of cases amounts to 4,934.
In addition, 27 people tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus at Famagusta General Hospital, four of whom are in the Increased Care Unit. In addition, five patients are still being treated in the Nicosia General Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit, while another ten people are being treated in a COVID-19 ward.
