A 23 year old man who owed €6,969 in 19 pending traffic fines, was arrested in Larnaca at dawn, following a routine check.
Not wearing a seat belt seemed to be the least of his offences, as the vehicle had been illegally modified, right through from the exhaust system, which had been pumped up, to the body of the car itself. The braking lights had been removed. The vehicle was confiscated and will go through the necessary checks at the Road Transport department.
A drug test on site came back positive and a further sample was sent for processing.
