Police carried out 591 checks to enforce decrees to contain the coronavirus from Sunday until Monday morning and booked nine businesses and 22 individuals for offences.
Most of the individuals, ten, were fined in Larnaca. Four were booked in Nicosia, another four in Limassol, three in Famagusta and one in the Morphou district.
Seven of the premises are located in Limassol, one is in Nicosia and one in Larnaca.
During three days from Friday until Sunday, 1,697 inspections were carried out, and 20 premises and 26 individuals were charged.
According to police, the majority of offences concerned the non-use of masks by employees and managers of businesses, as well as their improper use.
Three establishments in Limassol were fined €4,000 each and one €8,000.
The owner of premises in Larnaca was charged €3,000 because 152 instead of the permitted 75 people were inside.
Other establishments in Paphos were also fined for overcrowding and the non-use of masks.
