  • Samples taken as part of a sample check carried out by the COP on Associations participating in its competitions completed 31 laboratory tests.

Therefore, and on the basis of the data so far, the total number of cases amounts to 2,109.

According to the Ministry of Health, the risk of derailing the situation is visible and if there is no full compliance with the distancing measures and related PROTOCOLS OF ALL, the risk of complete reversal of efforts will be a fact. The transmission chains identified in recent days, as well as the number of cases added to the chains identified in the previous period, demonstrate that the health protocols are not sufficiently applied, with the result that the coronavirus is dangerously dispersed in workplaces, educational institutions, dining areas and especially places frequented by young people.

There is also an increase in the number of people being tested because they show symptoms. This is sounding the alarm since the increase in symptomatic bodies of the coronavirus indicates that the potential for an increase in people who will need hospital treatment in the next period is also high.

It is also recalled that last week we had three patient deaths over four days, which is also worrying.

At Famagusta General Hospital, the number of people hospitalized has been reduced, as two people are being treated positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

In addition, two patients remain intubated in the Intensive Care Unit of nicosia General Hospital. In the remaining hospitals, three COVID-19 patients are treated in a ward.
