152 new cases of coronavirus announced Tuesday by the Ministry of Health, out of a total of 4,410 laboratory diagnoses. With symptoms most people were diagnosed positive for the virus, according to the Ministry of Health's announcement, while 99 new positive people in the virus were identified through a private initiative. Concern is expressed by the Ministry of Health about a possible increase in hospital admissions.
In detail, today's incidents emerged as follows:
- Of 305 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases, 23 cases were identified.
- Of 2,360 samples taken through a private initiative, 99 cases were detected.
- Of 929 samples taken as part of a passenger and repatriated check, 2 cases were identified.
- Of 212 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 10 cases were detected.
- Of 341 samples taken as part of the referral programme by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics, 18 cases were identified.
In addition, the following laboratory tests were carried out, without identifying a positive person in the virus:
- From samples taken as part of the control programme for pupils, teachers and school staff, 87 laboratory tests were completed,
- From samples taken as part of a sample check carried out by the COP on Associations participating in its competitions, 173 laboratory diagnoses were carried out, and
- From samples taken as part of the laboratory testing programme carried out in nursing homes and other structures, 3 laboratory diagnoses were carried out.
Therefore, and on the basis of the data so far, the total number of cases is 2,839.
In addition, 20 people tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus at Famagusta General Hospital, one of whom is in the Increased Care Unit. In addition, two patients are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit at the Nicosia General Hospital, while two other people are being treated in a COVID-19 ward.
