The Ministry of Health, after receiving information from the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit, announced 113 new cases of coronavirus out of a total of 3,122 laboratory diagnoses.
In detail, today's cases emerged as follows:
- Of 530 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases, 35 cases were identified.
- Of 1,062 samples taken through a private initiative, 49 cases were detected.
- Of 132 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 13 cases were detected.
- Of 689 samples taken as part of a passenger and repatriated check, 4 cases were identified.
- Of 329 samples taken as part of the control programme for pupils, teachers and school staff, 12 cases were identified.
In addition, 380 laboratory tests were carried out from samples taken as part of the referral programme by Personal Physicians and special team control through the Public Health Clinics, without the detection of a case.
Therefore, and on the basis of the data so far, the total number of cases amounts to 3,930.
In addition, 26 people tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus at Famagusta General Hospital, five of whom are in the Increased Care Unit. In addition, four patients are being treated in the Nicosia General Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit, while another eight people are being treated in a COVID-19 ward.
