TOURISM IN PAPHOS - REGIONAL TOURISM DEVELOPMENT & PROMOTION COMPANY MET TODAY

It was held today with the participation of only the members of the Paphos EFF due to a Ministerial Decree to limit the COVID-19 virus at the Almyra Hotel in Paphos, the Annual General Meeting of the Paphos Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company.

The President of the Paphos Tourism Organization, Giorgos Mais, referred to the company's activities and actions in 2019. He stressed that the Agency's established strategy is the development of Paphos tourism through the qualitative upgrading of the product and services offered, as well as the repositioning of the province to the preferences of visitors and the strengthening of competitiveness.

It analysed the data and prospects of Paphos, the problems facing the sector and made specific suggestions .

Mr May pointed out that the aim is to establish Paphos as a quality superior tourist destination that will be in full operation all year round.

Among other things, he referred to the positions and suggestions of the EFF such as the increase of flights to and from Paphos airport and the introduction of routed flights throughout the year, the strengthening of the competitiveness and quality of the services offered and the implementation of the outstanding planned private and public infrastructure and development projects such as the construction of Marina in Potima, the creation of projects in Paphos and the area of Chrysochous Town for cruise ship reception. , the Road Network of Paphos-City Chrysochous and Airport-Paphos-Marina, the upgrading of beaches and related services and the upgrading, enrichment and continuation of the landscaping of the built environment.

George May also referred to the support and encouragement of the education and employment of local staff in the tourism industry, the further expansion of tourism markets, the expansion of the tourist season with emphasis on the months of November to March and more.

The President of the Agency assured those present that the Paphos EFF will continue and upgrade its efforts. He called on all members to join forces so that together they could build on the foundations set, but also on the good results of recent years with the immediate aim of recovering and exiting the very negative situation that the pandemic has survived.
