The British government plans to impose a general "Lockdown" on much of northern Britain and possibly London to combat a second wave of coronavirus, the Times reported late On Sunday.
The new containment measures being considered are for all pubs, restaurants and bars to be closed initially for two weeks, although British Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently said any new national "lockdown" would threaten jobs, livelihoods and human relations.
Britain last week imposed new measures requiring people to work from home where possible and ordered restaurants and bars to close at 10pm in order to cope with a second COVID-19 wave.
Schools and shops will remain open, along with factories and offices where staff could not work from home, the Times added, citing a government source.
