Three official photographs of the Princess Royal have been released to celebrate her seventieth birthday tomorrow (Saturday, 15 August). The portraits were taken at Gatcombe Park in late February 2020 by photographer John Swannell.
On 15 August 1950, HRH Princess Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise of Edinburgh was born at Clarence House in London. The princess is the only daughter of HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. In 1973, Princess Anne married Captain Mark Phillips (b.1948). The couple had two children: Peter Phillips (b.1977) and Zara Phillips (b.1981). The princess and Captain Phillips separated in 1989 and divorced in 1992. In 1992, the princess remarried Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence (b.1955). In 1987, Anne was created Princess Royal by her mother Queen Elizabeth II.
