A Super Late Crazy, 3-day, Weekend Recap

Better late than never, I suppose! All I can say after this weekend is... wow. It was perhaps the best and worst weekend I have had in a long time. The family drama I witnessed and that ensued makes Jerry Springer look classy. My weekend with my mom was interrupted, of course, because that is how my life goes, but we made it work. Friday night after work, we went to our favorite restaurant "The Melting Pot" for dinner. We indulged in cheese dip and white chocolate brulee for dessert! It was so much fun. We only go a few times a year so it's always great to go. After dinner I met a new friend at a local pub for a nightcap.

Saturday morning we left Charlotte early to spend the day moving my mom into my brother's house. It was a long, long morning and afternoon. Hiking and weight lifting are great workouts but I think moving has to beat them all. Nothing exhausts me more. Once mom was moved in, we decided to stay the night with my brother, sister in law, and nephew instead of driving back to Charlotte.

Later that evening as I was getting ready, my nephew was watching me do my makeup and was so fascinated. It was seriously the cutest thing. He loved looking at himself in the mirror. As I was putting on my foundation and stroking the brush on my face, he was doing the same thing with a Q-tip. Seriously, no one can melt me like he can.

The above pictures are me with my sister-in-law and baby brother. I cannot believe my Bub will be 22 in less than two months... I mean that is just crazy to me. To my pleasant surprise, Saturday night turned out to be a really fun and good night.

Sunday morning my mom and I took off back to Charlotte. She and I both were exhausted. I haven't felt that kind of exhaustion in a long time. Plus not sleeping well on Saturday did not help either. She and I spent the day at my apartment taking it easy. I cleaned and got some food prep done. We then took showers and made ourselves look presentable.

We went to a really fun Mexican bar in Matthews for dinner and drinks. The drinks were awesome. Mine was so big though! I could not even make it through half, but it was delicious. I hate Margarita's, but the "top shelf" one I had was not bad. Mama had fresh Sangria, her favorite. It was strong - actually stronger than mine!

Monday, mom left early. I woke up aching. The soreness from the move officially kicked in. Nonetheless, I had a lot to do. I spent the morning running errands, spent 3 hours putting a desk together, and then more hours scrubbing my apartment and food prepping. Nonstop I tell ya! However, I can't wait to tell you guys all about my new little "home office space" I created and why! More on that next week.

Now it's time to tackle this work day, have a killer workout, and enjoy a 4-day weekend with my family! Have a great Memorial Day weekend everyone - what do you guys have planned?

A super fun, beautiful Spring-like weekend recap!

What a weekend! It was packed with some of my favorite ladies and a lot of fun. However, so much for my "sleeping in" plan. Ha! Friday I was dragging. It was a great day at work, but I was just exhausted. I went to my doctor at 1 PM for my  B12 and to weigh. I lost 2.2 pounds last week! My total down since November 25th: 31.6 pounds! When my work day was finally over, I decided to skip the gym. I knew if I made myself go, the workout would be bad. Since it was a beautiful day, I put the top down, blasted country music, and drove home.

I had my awesome Ipsy bag waiting on me, finally! It only took it 11 days to arrive. If you don't know what Ipsy is, it is a monthly makeup bag that you receive via mail for only $10 a month. You get a makeup bag each month along with 4-5 beauty products. If you want to join, please use my link, just click here. I am very impressed with this months bag! I also received a shipment of protein bars from my friends nutrition company. Kelly decided to come over and we did a taste test with my new protein bars. I had not tried any of the flavors I received! I really like the cinnamon roll Quest Bar but did not like apple pie flavor. I was also given the new "Oh Yeah" protein bars. They are formulated to taste just as good as Quest Bar's. And to my surprise, they actually were! Plus they have more fiber. After Kelly left. I relaxed with "Dr. Phil" and "Party Down South". It was glorious. Oh and how beautiful is my best friend?

Saturday morning I was up bright and early. I made breakfast, folded some laundry (ugh) and then took off to the gym. I normally hate working out in the morning, but I had to get it in or else I would not have been able to train. To my surprise it was an AWESOME workout. A day of rest will do the body so much good. I am happy I decided to take Friday evening off from the gym. I did 45 minutes of cardio and an upper body weight circuit. I lifted heavy and pushed through and hard on the cardio. It felt so, so amazing! On top of that, it was a gorgeous day -- sunny with a light breeze, and in the mid-60's. How beautiful is my view?

Since the weather was so beautiful. I decided to wear all white. I love white on white with a colored belt. It may not be the best fashion choice, but I don't follow fashion so I don't really care, ha!

Once ready, I left so I could pick up Kelly. There are not many acceptable reasons to mess up freshly conditioned and straightened hair, but being able to put the top down in February is one of them!

After I picked up Kels, we went to the "Southern Home and Garden Expo". That is definitely not my type of thing or idea of fun, but her boyfriend, who happens to be my good friend, Drew had a booth setup promoting his amazing home building and remodeling company. So of course we had to go show our support. It turned out to be a really fun time! Plus there was wine, so that makes it all worth it.

Everyone was writing on that chalk board so of course I had to leave mine and Kels mark on there!

If you or someone you know lives in or near Charlotte, NC please check out Drew's company Artistic Contractors. He works so hard and is such a smart person. He is 29 years old and already owns his own company - talk about drive. I can't wait to see where his business goes. They have created some of the most amazing houses - all different types from modern to Victorian. Plus they can remodel a home.

I left the expo around 6:30 to meet my long, lost friend Crystal. I have not seen her since New Year's so we were overdue for a dinner date. We went to one of my favorite restaurants; Stone Mountain Grill. We had a "French Kiss" martini and a delicious dinner. I am usually not a "meat and potatoes" kind of girl, but I was last night! I had grilled chicken with caramelized onions, mushrooms, and cheese with a side of fresh vegetables and the thickest mashed red potatoes. That is what I call an amazing "treat meal".

After dinner with Crystal, I was a big ole loser and went grocery shopping. I knew I would not feel like doing it today, so I am glad I went ahead and got it done last night. When I got home, I put my things away and went to bed pretty early. I woke up bright and early today since my best friend Brooke and I were going hiking. We met up with our friends Jennifer and Josh as well. Hiking is my favorite type of cardio to do. Luckily since the we have had such a beautiful weekend, we were able to go. It was a little cooler than I thought it would be, but we had a lot of fun!

When Brooke and I finished hiking, I was exhausted. It was a welcome exhaustion though, it means we worked extremely hard. I dropped Brooke off at my apartment when we got back to Charlotte and I took off to Target. I knew if I did not go then, I would not go. It wasn't one of those fun Target trips either. Ugh. I needed cat stuff and cleaning supplies. I did score a cute new purple tank top for the gym on clearance for only $5 though. However, I ended up spending $53! How is this $53 dollars worth?! Grr, it makes me so mad. Target, I love you but I hate you, ha.

After Target I was FINALLY home. It was not time to rest yet though. I felt like a walking zombie. I had to clean though. It was driving my crazy. Marty is one hairy fur ball so I have to ensure I dust and Clorox every week and vacuum twice a week. I made myself do it and finished it in 45 minutes. It is a beautiful day so I have the windows open and letting the sunshine coming through. It is much more enjoyable when you have a clean living room, too. Doesn't the cat tower add so much to the room as well? Ha!

I am finally, finally showered and ready to relax for the evening. I can't wait to binge out on the MTV specials tonight with the original Teen Mom cast (don't judge me). I hope you guys had a great weekend and do not forget to link up with all of the Monday ones that will be going on!

One last thing...

The weekend recap of a lot of fun and my best friend!

Man, I am tired!

It was a really fun weekend. Friday I got my booty up early for 30 minutes of cardio before work with Kelly. After, it was a great day at work and I rocked a head braid. I am finally getting better at doing those. I had my doctor's appointment at 1 PM to get my vitamin B12 and weigh. I lost 2.1 pounds last week. My total down since November 25th, 2013 is 28.1 pounds. It got even better when my doctor told me that last week alone I actually lost 3 pounds of solid fat. He said that is almost unheard of so he was really surprised. The scale showed only a 2.1 pound weight loss because I am adding muscle. Which we all know weighs more than fat, but is much more dense.

After work, I hit the gym again. I did 30 more minutes of cardio and an upper body weight circuit. By the time I finished, one of my best friend's Jennifer, was pulling up at my apartment to spend the weekend with me. Shortly after she arrived, we took off to Zappata's, one of our favorite Mexican restaurants for dinner and a well deserved blackberry Margarita!

After dinner and a lot of talking, we went to WalMart so I could get groceries and we could get some things for her, so she did not starve to death. Ha. She is not a fan of all of the "weird" things I eat. So funny. After groceries, we both really tired from the long day. The rest of the night involved getting her addicted to "Party Down South", my new reality TV addiction. It hits home to me because Myrtle Beach is my second home!

Saturday morning, we slept in. I made coconut flour biscuits from scratch and Jen was not a fan! Ha. She then opted for eggs. At least I had some for her!

After breakfast we were dressed and out of the door. I took her to my work to show her the office then we did some shopping. Of course Ulta was one of our stops! After shopping, I devoured a Quest Bar then walked to the gym for cardio and an upper body weight circuit. It was a beautiful, sunny day.

After a solid workout at the gym, it was time to shower and get glamorous (duh) to go out for a little fun.

We went to uptown Charlotte to go out for dinner at "Whisky River". I live in south Charlotte, about 15 minutes away from uptown, so I don't go there a lot. It was fun to try something new with Jen! But I am not of fan of driving through. $15 parking and a lot of one way streets? No thanks. I would like to live there one day, but I would live at a place where I could walk most places.

I was a lot of fun! Whisky River is in the Epicenter, which is awesome. The atmosphere was great, the setup was great, and the food was REALLY great. I had the unhealthiest quesadilla of my life. It was spinach and mushroom. That doesn't sound bad, right? It was loaded with cheese and fried. Naughty, naughty, but at least it was delicious. I can't wait to go there again.

After dinner, we came back to my part of Charlotte so we could go to the movies. I finally, finally, finally got to see "Wolf of Wall Street". I have been dying to see it. It was SO. damn. awesome. It has to be one of the best movies made. I have never laughed so much in my life. The acting was out of this world. Jonah Hill and Leonardo together is the best. I thought Leo could not get better from "The Great Gatsby" but I was so wrong. His acting amazes me. I can't for the movie to come on DVD so I can buy it. Lots of drug use, sex, hot women, and crude comedy - my kind of movie right there!

I could not believe how long the movie was though. It was midnight by the time we left so we went back to my apartment to go to sleep. We slept in until 10 this morning and it was glorious. Jennifer left shortly after because her daughter was getting sick.

I dove right into my Sunday routine. I went to run some errands then came back to clean up some and prep my food for the week. I was getting really tired. I'm sore for a lot of hard cardio and two days in a row weights. But I knew I needed to push through and go to the gym for legs. My legs are the strongest part of my body and I love to work them because I push so hard. I was not feeling it today. However, I made myself go because I know tomorrow is my rest day from the gym. And I am so glad I did. I had a killer workout and the soreness is already creeping in - my favorite.

Nothing better after a long, hard leg workout then some deep stretching. And with that, I have finished my week of training and can't wait to relish in my day off tomorrow so Tuesday I can get back to kicking ass.

I'm pooped now though. I'm off to finish laundry, take a bubble bath, make dinner, and watch an explosive episode of the Atlanta Housewives. Seriously, those women are crazy. I can't wait to see what happens this week!

A friend and fun filled beautiful weekend recap!

Friday was a busy, busy day. It always seems to be! But I felt great. I woke up at 5:30 AM and hit the gym before work. I never do that, but I knew I was going out directly after work, so it needed to be done. I was proud of myself. As a lot of you guys know, on Friday's I go to my doctor to get a B12 injection and I always have them weigh me. I love being accountable and I work very well under stress. So that moment of getting on the scale on Friday's is like my war, ha. I was excited for my weigh in. I had a great week, I ate clean and trained hard. My body was feeling good and I was wearing clothes that I have not been able to wear in a while. I get to the doctor, get my injection, then have my weigh in. I lost one proud.

One pound? Are you freaking kidding me? I know one pound is better than staying the same or gaining, but I felt so much more than that. My doctor came in and he could tell that I felt down. I explained to him why. He told me that my fat mass was a lot lower than last week and that the only reason the scale is not showing the results the fat mass is because my water levels were so elevated. Which is a good point. I was "very bloated" if you know what I mean and I could definitely tell I was holding water. He told me that next Friday when the water weight is gone, I will see a good difference. I can't wait to kick butt this week and hopefully have a great weight loss at the end of the week. Thus far, my total down since November 25th: 26.1 pounds!

When I left work on Friday, I met my best friend Kelly and my friends Jeannie and Holly at this fun place called "Duckworth's". It was half price wine and it is always fun to unwind with your girlfriends.

I did not stay out too late, because well, priorities. I enjoy getting "tipsy" but not drunk. However it was such a good time though!

Saturday I woke up pretty early. I was lazy around the apartment and hit the gym at noon for 45 minutes of cardio and an upper body weight circuit. It was an awesome workout. When I was leaving the gym, I had a coupon for "Rack Room Shoes" emailed to me so I had to rush over to the mall and pick out a new pair of gym shoes. I LOVE "Nike Air" for the gym. They are so comfortable and good quality. I love the style!

I also picked up a new charm for my necklace. I love this choker type necklace that I have and enjoy buying new charms for it. I bought a 3-star charm for it.

When I came home from the gym and mall, I took and shower got ready. I met one of my good friends Alexis at one of my favorite restaurants in my neighborhood; Cantina 1511. We were there for over 3 hours. She and I go out every couple of weeks and never have a shortage of anything to talk about. I love that girl!

We both had the same thing for dinner. A mushroom, spinach, and goat cheese quesadilla with a side of avocado. This quesadilla was not only absolutely delicious but super filling too. I could only eat two pieces of it and I have a big appetite, ha!

Today has been Sunday Funday. Ha! My day has been filled with errands, cleaning, and the gym. I don't really care about the Superbowl so... whatever. Ha! It has been such a beautiful day though and not too cold. I'm cherishing it. My errands never end. I grocery shop at 3 different places. I just realized how ridiculous it is!

Since it was such a beautiful day, I made the best of it. I live super duper close to my gym, so I took advantage of it and walked. A little pre-cardio to get my prepped for my cardio and leg work out!

A little vitamin D does the body good because I had an awesome workout! I love leg day!

Now the Superbowl has just started so I am going to cook some dinner and since HBO has updated their movie list, I am going to watch "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer". How was your weekend? Don't forget to join the link up's going on tomorrow!
