TEMPERATURE 37 AND UPWARDS TODAY, A FURTHER RISE TOMORROW

The summer is well and truly back, as a warm air current is affecting Cyprus and will be taking temperatures possibly right up to the edge of 40 over the next couple of days.

Fine skies today,  with light variable winds in the morning, force three, later turning light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly, force three to four and in the afternoon, in southwestern regions, gradually strong force four to five.

Seas will be calm to slight, turning slight in the afternoon over northern and southwestern areas.

Temperatures will rise to 37 degrees Celsius inland, 32 in eastern and southeastern coastal regions, 31 in the rest of the coastal areas and 29 over the mountains.

Fine skies this evening. Winds will be light southwesterly to northwesterly and in windward regions, moderate force three to four, over calm to slight seas, but remaining slight in western and northern areas.

Temperatures will drop to around 20 degrees Celsius inland, 22 in coastal regions and 17 over the mountains.

Mercury will be rising steadily through to Tuesday, well above the seasonal average, with a slight drop in temperatures on Wednesday inland and in the west, but remaining highly uncommon for this time of year.
