DIFFERENT THEFTS IN TALA OVER THE EASTER WEEKEND

Just so you are aware, thieves are not just targetting residential and business premises.

Over the Orthodox Easter weekend, the following were reported in Tala:

- Theft of parts from cars parked on a complex - presumably the parts were needed as spares or to sell on

- Theft of metal grilles/manhole covers from the pavement in a new residential development where the plots are for sale.   Around a dozen covers 'disappeared' over the Easter weekend

If you see any person or vehicle acting suspiciously or not recognised in your area, please phone the Police.  Reaction by the Police can often be a deterrent and cause the thieves to move on to another area.   This was shown to be the case a few months ago, when there were two suspicious characters in the Square one day, for most of the day.  Someone made it quite clear they were taking a photograph of them, and spread the word to the other businesses to be aware.  The Police responded, took away the photograph and descriptions.  They subsequently advised that another village had also contacted them with similar descriptions of two men causing concern.
