PARLIAMENT REJECTS CIVIL SERVICE REFORM

From Cyprus Mail staff reporter 9/12/2016

Parliament on Friday rejected five of six government bills on civil service reform.

The bill on secondment was referred to the House finance committee for further discussion.
Undersecretary to the president and reform commissioner Constantinos Petrides voiced his regret over the parliament’s decision.

“Without so much as an amendment from parties the civil service reform was rejected in its entirety. It is really saddening that the current rotten system is perpetuated.”
