Well known painter, born in 1951 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and now resident in Tala Cyprus. His career has always been within the music and film environment, in The Netherlands as well as abroad.
Joep has been painting for 20 years and is entirely self-taught. With his inexorable desire to create his images, he has developed a unique style which is instantly recognisable as the artist’s signature. The paintings are mainly abstract and generally portray images set in a group with particular emphasis given to their surroundings.
The paintings summon the observer to use their powers of imagination to explore and interpret the meaning behind each individual canvas. Oils and acrylic resin are used on a linen canvas thus creating dynamic and intense colours. The simplicity of the abstract designs identifies Joep’s own particularly unique style which he has exhibited in many locations in his native Holland, which are renowned on the art circuit in the Netherlands.
Joep designed wine-labels for “the Art Collection” collaborating with the Tsangarides Winery in Lemona.
His art can be seen in Cyprus at the Dutch Embassy, the International school and the Town Hall of Paphos .Those venues have all purchased paintings. You can also see Joep’s fine display of paintings in our environment and of course at his home and shop in Tala where he creates his art and special commissions.
