PRIVATE SERVICES AND SECURITY SYSTEMS

Warning!!   Do you know that ...?
-  Companies and individuals that offer security services are governed by law
-  The provision of security services without a licence from the Police is ILLEGAL
-  Offending companies are prosecuted and can serve up to two (2) years imprisonment and/or
    a monetary fine up to €30,000
-  Every eligible company has a special licence with a specific valid period, is known and checked
    by the Police
-  The services that are covered  by law are:

1. Research & Design of an electronic and natural security system
2. Electronic Security – alarm systems closed circuit surveillance systems, fire systems, access controlled
    areas, etc.
3. Maintenance of centralised alarm system, control and transmission systems
4. Static Guard Systems -­ homes, businesses private / semi-­‐public / public organisations, events,
    conferences, competitions, athletic / artistic / wedding events, shows or other movable property
5. Motorised Patrol Services – home, company premises and property
6. Valuables Transportation - protection  and transport of cash, documents, valuables
7. VIP Escort – protection of individuals
8. Research Services (Detective) - identifying missing persons, prevention or uncovering industrial
    espionage, damage or loss of property rights or interest
9. Control and Organisation of Traffic on private property for protection


The Cyprus Police is always by your side to inform and guide you.  For better, stronger security
and protection of families, your workplace and your property.

DO NOT request a study or proposal from non-­‐licenced companies or individuals

DO NOT accept visits to your private property or workplace from illegal companies or
individuals

DO NOT encourage or have any communication under any circumstances with illegal companies
or individuals

DO NOT give any information or details that pertain to your personal safety to illegal companies
or individuals

For security services always ask for identity and the authorisation certificate of any individual
and company.
