Bangalore, June 18 (IANS) A day after ensuring business baron Vijay Mallya's win in the Rajya Sabha poll from Karnataka with the help of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) Friday denied it was cozying up to the state's ruling party. "We supported Mallya and not the BJP," JD-S state president and former chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy told reporters in Mysore, about 130 kms from here. He denied the Congress charge that JD-S had entered into a secret pact with BJP and hence it had supported Mallya and not the Congress, which would have helped the party to win one more seat in Thursday's poll. State Congress president R.V. Deshpande said Thursday that the JD-S and the BJP had entered into a tacit understanding to support Mallya. "This alliance is a harbinger of things to come," he said. Liquor baron Mallya contested as a JD(S)-backed Independent and defeated Congress nominee T.V. Maruthi with the help of BJP votes. BJP's former president M. Venkaiah Naidu and state leader Ayanur Manjunath and Congress general secretary and former central minister Oscar Fernandes were the other three winners in the polling held for four seats. Since the JD-S had only 28 votes, including that of one Independent, BJP helped Mallya to win by transferring its second preference votes to him. Kumaraswamy and his father, former prime minister and JD-S president H.D. Deve Gowda blamed the Congress for losing an opportunity to win the second Rajya Sabha seat from Karnataka. |

LG, televizyonlarında bulunan "Clear Voice" (Net Ses) özelliği sayesinde, Güney Afrika’da devam eden 2010 Dünya Kupası’nda statlarda taraftarların çaldığı "vuvuzela" (yerel çalgı) seslerinin kısılabileceğini duyurdu.
LG tarafından yapılan açıklamada, LG’nin tüm televizyonlarında bulunan, yayındaki efekt seslerinin kısılarak insan seslerinin ön plana çıkarılmasına olanak sağlayan Clear Voice özelliği sayesinde Dünya Kupası keyfinin Vuvuzela sesleri duyulmadan kesintisiz yaşanabileceği belirtildi.
Clear voice özelliğinin LG’nin tüm LCD, Plazma ve 3D Full LED televizyonlarında bulunduğu vurgulanan açıklamada, bu özellik sayesinde istenmeyen sesler engellenerek, maçların statta olduğundan bile daha net duyularak izlenebileceği kaydedildi.

"Aptha Rakshaka for Karnataka CM"
| Recently, at the 50th day get together of Aptha Rakshaka, Dr. Vishnuvardhan's 200th film, at Bengaluru City Institute, Dr. BS Yediyurappa, the Chief Minister of Karnataka has expressed interest in watching the movie. According to producer Krishna Prajwal, Aptha Rakshaka has garnered about Rs. 25 crores in 50 days. Rs. 5 lakh has been donated to the Flood Relief Fund of the Karnataka government and for making a huge statue of Dr Vishnuvaradhan at the memorial of the actor next to Abhiman Studio. Prajwal is having thoughts about making the Hindi version of the film, starring Akshay Kumar. The event was attended by just Avinash and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy as all the other artistes and technicians were busy with some work or the other. Lakshmi Gopalaswamy stated that she was always ready to pay her respect and homage to Dr. Vishnuvardhan and it is the respect that made her attend the function. Kannada actor Avinash has been signed on for the Telugu version of Aptha Rakshaka. It is produced by Suresh and stars starring the prominent Telugu star Venkatesh. Avinash also remarked that his affection for Dr. Vishnuvardhan had brought him to the occasion. |
