"Windows Media Player cannot access the file .." - possible solutions

While trying to view a video (a movie or a TV channel) on the Internet, you frequently encounter different problems from the video players. One of the problems is shown in the picture below.

Here are a few solutions that you can try:

• Microsoft has the list of errors, explanation and solution to many of these problems here.
• go to : Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Sound and then something should pop up saying certain enhancements are interfering with something Terminate the program? Click yes and your problem should be solved.
• Download and use VLC Media player - This one worked for us.
