Healthy Living Through Successful Exercise

Loving life and keeping the body healthy always go hand in hand. A person can only fully appreciate life and enjoy it if he or she is healthy. Poor health can be a big hindrance for some people to be able to do the things that they want to do in life. This limitation can affect how they live their lives day to day.

But with following a regular exercise program, even just a moderate one, can have a beneficial effect on the body. The important thing is that it should be done on a regular basis and not just occasionally. Routine makes exercise give the body the thorough workout that it needs to keep fit and stay healthy.

In order to be successful in doing exercises regularly, one should learn how to love doing them. An exercise program should be fashioned as much as possible to the person's own preference as much as possible. Success in making exercise a habit is by trying to make it become more interesting and appealing to a person. That is the easiest way to make exercising a habit.

If you haven't tried exercising regularly before, you can start by doing tasks that you normally do with a different challenge. Always try to help give your body some kind of a workout even for the daily chores or tasks that you do. If you wish to go somewhere nearby, try to walk the distance instead of driving there. Try parking at the far end of the car park when you go to the supermarket so that you can walk all the way to the store. That can easily give you a good workout without even trying.

Beginning a good exercise program starts with just doing what you love to do on a regular basis. If you love gardening, then it can be seen as part of your exercise program. Hiking, cycling and getting into sports such as swimming, tennis or even golf can be easily be considered as part of a regular exercise routine. What makes them so important is that they help keep the interest in keeping fit up, therefore making people love what they are doing.

A good exercise routine usually is composed of about 30 minutes of physical workout each day. The routine can be started for three or four days each week and may gradually be increased to six days every week at the most. The 30 minutes can either be done in one sitting each day and can also be spread out at different intervals. What is important is that the person should be working on the consistency and the length of time of the exercises. Intensity of the workouts just comes in second.

As some added motivation to keep up with a training and exercise program, a person would likely enjoy keeping fit and loving life more with other people around to do it with. Keeping fit with a friend or a colleague can help make an exercise regimen more enjoyable to do. Not only does it make the process easier with someone along to do it with, the added motivation may also come from the competition.

Friends can try to challenge each other to see who can come up with better results after several weeks of doing exercises together.

Croatia: Experience Its Richness In Culture And Adventure!

This summer if you aim for an island adventure in Europe, try Croatia. With over a thousand islands spread around the Adriatic Sea, you'll enjoy island hopping as you marvel at the natural beauty and the richness in culture that Croatia has to offer to all its visitors.

Located between South-Central Europe and Middle Europe, Croatia is the closest Mediterranean destination to central Europe, so if one wishes to escape from the hassle and bustle of the urban life, it only takes a 2-hour ride by plane from London or 45 minutes from Munich to this paradise. One may also travel by car or take its national ferry line, Jadrolinija. Once you get there, you'll be amazed of how Croatia is so blessed with nature's bounty. Thus, a perfect lace to relax and keep in touch with nature. Over third of Croatia is forested. Its densely wooden mountains and rocky coastlines in the Adriatic Sea are significant and amongst the best preserved in the world. In fact, certain places in Croatia like the Plitvice Lake and Dubrovnik's Old City are listed as one of UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Over 5,800 km of Croatia's coast is surrounded with wonderful beaches and resorts; crystal clear waters that lap the fine white sandy shores draws millions of tourists each year. Renowned beaches in Croatia for example is the Brela Beaches which entered into Forbes "top 20 beaches of the world" list. Aside from the beaches of Croatia, it is famous for its numerous national parks as well. Lonjsko polje as one of Croatia's beautiful parks is rich in flora and fauna where rare birds species like the white tailed and short toed eagle nestled.

If you want to go offshore and explore Croatia's historical sites then Dubrovnik is a must-see . Dubrovnik hosts many arts, musical and theatre events each year: the Dubrovnik Summer Festival for example is a superb event which lasts for an entire month. It gathered various artists – local and foreign - to entertain the public with their unique concerts and plays.

There's a wide-ranged of activities here in Croatia perfect for all ages. Whatever your purpose are for visiting this country: it might be for a summer vacation, a weekend getaway with your family, or a honeymoon for newlyweds, your visit will indeed be a memorable one. This is why Croatia was nominated as one of the nine countries in Europe for “European Tourist Destination Of Excellence”.

BOB Threatens Season 6

Current Location: Billabong's Location

Our Location: Chris + KT

We've been pretty lucky with good 'ol Mother Nature during our five year trip. Sure, we've been hammered both at anchor and at sea, but I can count the really scary moments on both my hands. Not a bad percentage considering we've been out for 1885 days.

We usually play it rather safe, avoiding cyclone seasons, watching the weather before passages, but Mother Nature is the boss out here and sometimes you simply get caught out. Once we entered the Western Indian ocean, we had to be careful of Named Storms/Winds. In the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden these winds usually created sand storms that covered the boat in red mud and created huge steep seas. We got caught in a Belat (a sand/dust storm) on the trip from Oman to Yemen, it wasn't pretty. These systems have been tracked for thousands of years, carry Arab names by fishermen they effect, and are even part of the Coptic calendar (including a special calendar of Gales).

The Meltemi

The Mistral

These storms don't end in the eastern Med, there are named winds throughout the Mediterranean - including the Etesian/Meltemi that effects the Aegean Sea (Greece/Turkey), the Mistral, and the Sirocco. You really have no understanding of these storms until you've been through one. We've had southern gales in Finike that brought sand from Africa, 380 miles across the Mediterranean. It covered our decks with red dust/muds... 380 miles.. how is there any sand still left in the desert? While we've been home, our friends in Marmaris experienced 76 Knots and the marina we almost left Billabong in was badly damaged (check out the video).

BOB
I know it doesn't sound very Arabic but BOB has been tracked even longer; longer than recorded history in fact. The timing is relatively well understood (around the end of June), but we can't be sure when exactly it will arrive. Will it come in the darkness of night, the early morning hours, or during the day with full light? Do we stay in Finike and ride it out in a known location or do we attempt the run to Marmaris and risk getting caught out? We arrive back in Turkey in April, but we have to paint the bottom and get everything prepared. We could really go for it and try to make it to Malta before BOB arrives... Decisions, decisions.
The good news is we've had plenty of warning and even started preparing Billabong before we left to come home. We've removed all the non-essential gear and are reading up and strategizing on how to prepare. Like all things in our cruising life preparation is the key, but we've been told that no matter how much we prepare, BOB will cause HUGE upheaval on board Billabong.

Despite all the work.. we are ecstatically awaiting Billabong's newest crew member (ie. Baby On Board .. BOB). How will it effect our season? You'll have to tune in to find out.. this one is fully in Mother Nature's hands.

Anil Ambani - Biggest billionaire drop in 2008

Indian businessman Anil Ambani has been revealed as the biggest loser on the 2009 Forbes World Billionaire list, losing $31.9bn over the past 12 months.

India's economy, although driven by domestic demand, hasn't been immune to the global slowdown. In the quarter ending December 2008, Gross Domestic Product grew by 5.3%, down from 9% the previous year.

Four Indians were among the world's top 10 richest in 2008, worth a combined $160 billion. Today, that same foursome is worth just $54 billion. Mukesh Ambani and Lakshmi Mittal still managed to hold on to their spots at Nos. 7 and 8, respectively. The same can't be said for Anil Ambani, who lost $32 billion this past year, more than any other billionaire in the world, or K.P. Singh, briefly the world's richest real estate baron, who lost $25 billion and is now ranked No. 98, worth $5 billion.

Not surprisingly, India's richest are facing a major reality check. A volatile stock market that dropped 44% in the past 12 months and a depreciating rupee, which fell about one-fifth against the dollar, sent their fortunes tumbling.
